Japanese designer Tsumori Chisato studied fashion within the famous Bunka School. After graduating she worked on Issey Miyake's Issey Sport line before she was given her own label in 1983, I.S. Chisato Tsumori Design. In 1990, she launched her own collection Tsumori Chisato. Her work has been rewarded many times, including the prestigious “Mainichi award” in 2002. She decided to choose Paris as location for her first fashion show outside Japan in 2003. One of her trademarks is the use of bright colours like pink, light blue, and purple. Her designs are personalized by a lot of handmade materials and fabrics, with paste jewellery, embroideries, spangles, jewelleries, and printings that she imagines. Last year Chisato collaborated with cosmetic brand Shu Eumura on a colour palette for her collection and a limited-edition make up collection.
